Elaborate large palace

Of all the places that we visited in Istanbul perhaps this is the one that the cost did not quite match the everything we saw. This is absolutely an amazing palace to visit and it is enormous. Did provide a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of Istanbul. You do get to walk through numerous structures and there is an amazing view of the Bosporus. Many of the structures had arches that were red and white which reminded us of Mezquita Cathedral de Cordoba though not nearly as elaborate or elegant. If you have the bandwidth, I think visiting is worthwhile but for us it was definitely lower on the list. Enjoy.

Highlight of trip to Istnabul

This site is absolutely amazing. Getting to see the headquarters of the Ottoman empire is like walking through a literal piece of art. My wife and I spent way longer here than we expected, almost three hours, and we still didn't see it all! Was such a great experience walking through the old rooms and hallways of the old palace, seeing the old clothing of the sultans, and the jewelry (including one of the most expensive diamonds in the world!). An absolute must visit for anyone visiting Istanbul who enjoys seeing old palaces with major historical significance. Highly recommended!

Topkapi Palace

Topkapi Palace is one of the most beautiful and important historical monuments in Istanbul. The place is very huge and gives you a closer look at the life of the Ottoman sultans. Old buildings and Ottoman decorations give a very special feeling, and the gardens are wide and their view of the Bosphorus Strait is charming
