The creek starts at the sea by Old Town Dubai and meanders it’s way too Business Bay where it links into the man made Dubai Water Canal. In Old Town it is lined by historic buildings and more modern towers. The waterways are busy with old fishing boats, dhows and abras. A must visit if visiting Dubai.

Al Seef is a recreation of a souk, on the edge of the embassy district; typical tourist experience where you're hounded by the shop holders to view their goods, which I really dislike. However, it gives you an idea of what Dubai was like pre -1970s so is interesting from an historical point of view. You can also get an Abra from here to other places along the creek, such as the gold and spice souls. Of more interest to us was Al Fahidi which is a true historical district, immediately opposite the abra stop, although there wasn't much going on when we visited; many of the 'houses' appeared to be closed for refurbishment.

Dubai Creek is a must-visit, offering a unique blend of history and modern charm. This natural saltwater inlet divides Old Dubai into Deira and Bur Dubai, where traditional abra boats ferry visitors to historic sites and bustling souks selling spices and goods. The modern harbour features dining, shopping, and stunning city skyline views. We enjoyed a 2–3 hour cruise with dining and traditional entertainment, highlighting spectacular views of Dubai’s illuminated towers. Booking a quality cruise with good food is recommended, as the magical atmosphere and vibrant skyline make this experience unforgettable.

Dubai Creek, a beautiful place, it has charm and sounds from old Abra which both smells and is a bit noisy, but that's part of the charm. What's not so charming, however, is walking inside where the markets are, the ones that are intended for tourists... scarves, clothes, spices.. just hustle and bustle.
